Serrat Grenache Noir 2022

This wine is from the original plantings in 2001 and a portion from the newer planting of the same clone in 2011. The clone is an old Barossa clone BRVC38.

There is a deep color to this release and it is again a fragrant and detailed Grenache with quite a set up in fruit concentration and extract.  It is crammed with expected raspberry, cranberry, pomegranate and wild strawberry fruits. There is a spicy edge, the aromas are heady and deep and keep evolving as the wine opens. It is particularly rich and concentrated.

Concentrated, silky, fine and poised it is a really delicious wine. The tannin structure and mouthfeel is juicy and intense and layered with raspberry and strawberry fruits. The length is there along with characteristic chalky Grenache finish. It is delicious now as a good young Grenache should be, but it will continue to evolve and improve over the coming years.
